Job Description
The Department of Biology at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking applications for a full-time research assistant to investigate how metabolic regulations constrain metabolism. The successful candidate will be offered a 2-year position in a research project supported by a UAEU research council. The candidate will be involved in the study which is focused on understanding how different regulatory interactions such as enzyme-metabolite inhibition and enzyme-metabolite activation interactions are constraining the metabolism. The project will analyze gene expression data and in combination with statistical and mathematical modeling approaches, it will address the research objectives. Minimum Qualification Candidate must have completed a master's degree in Bioinformatics / Systems Biology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Microbiology / Biochemistry and preference will be given to those having knowledge/experience of computer programming (preferably R) and a good understanding of biological systems, especially metabolic systems.
Preferred Qualification
Highly motivated candidates with strong academic track records and relevant experience in Bioinformatics and Systems biology (for example transcriptomics, NGS, mathematical modeling, Network analysis) are especially encouraged to apply.
